Remembering Molly

It is with a heavy heart that we notify you of the passing of one of our Founders and a dear friend. Molly Vyeda passed peacefully in her sleep the evening of November 13th. Molly, along with her husband Ray, and their very good friend Bill Justice started the Golden Gate Disneyana Club on Oct. 31st 1987. Since the clubs beginning Molly has been involved in one way or another. Serving on the board as Treasurer until 1998 and has been our Member at Large until recently when health issues began to prevent her from attending the meetings.

It goes without saying that Molly LOVED all things Disney. After going on many shopping trips with her I can honestly tell you that she could outshop anybody. Molly met and made lasting friendships with many Disney artist and Imagineers.

My first Disneyana Convention in 1998, Molly took us under her wing and introduced us to so many Disney Legends and future Disney Legends. Molly was also a great “tour guide” throughout WDW and helping us make the most out of our trip. It was 9 days of Disney magic!

When the club would have a “live” auction and Molly’s paddle began going up, you knew she was probably going to be the one taking home the new treasure.

Molly had a big heart and a diplomatic way about her. I never saw her angry and never heard her raise her voice to anyone.

We are truly going to miss her, but we know she will be with us in spirit. Anytime we are doing something involving Disney I know Molly will be enjoying it with us.

A Personal Note from Molly’s Family

"In my grandmother Molly Vyeda's recent passing, I know she wanted people to donate to the GGDC on her behalf if they wished.

Thanks so much, I know this club meant a lot to my grandma Molly."
